ADA Code Revision Committee

Requests for changes to the Code arise from members of the profession, third-party payer organizations and other interested parties. Review and action on requested changes takes place during the Code Revision Committee's (CRC) periodic meetings. The CRC is comprised of:

One voting member each from the five following organizations - America's Health Insurance Plans, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Delta Dental Plans Association and the National Association of Dental Plans
One voting member representing a National Purchaser of Group Dental Benefits
Six voting members representing the ADA, who are dentists in practice appointed by the President of the Association.

Code Revision Committee (CRC) Meeting Notice

The review and revision cycle, leading to the version of the Code effective January 1, 2013 is underway and the second CRC meeting is scheduled to convene at the ADA Headquarters on August 12-13, 2011. During this meeting the CRC will address requests received by April 1, 2011. Summary information on each request is available in the posted CRC Batch 2 inventory:

Summary meeting reports are available here for download approximately 30 days after each CRC meeting. Posted reports address CRC actions taken during the current and prior Code review and revision cycles.

Please note that actions taken at a CRC meeting may be affected by requestor appeals or CRC decisions made later in the review and revision cycle and nothing is considered final until the new version of the Code is published.
