ADA Seal Statement

"The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs’ Acceptance of Aquafresh Triple Protection Toothpaste is based on its finding that the product is effective in helping to prevent and reduce tooth decay, when used as directed."

Basis for Acceptance

A company earns the ADA Seal for its product by providing evidence that meets the ADA criteria for safety and efficacy. The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs carefully evaluates the evidence according to the Guidelines for Participation in the ADA’s Seal of Acceptance Program. In addition, there is a specific guideline for this product category called Fluoride Containing Dentifrices which includes, but is not limited to, the following criteria:

Total fluoride
Available fluoride in fresh & aged samples
One minute fluoride release rate in fresh & aged samples
Bioavailability in demineralized enamel
Must meet ISO 11609 Dentistry Toothpaste Requirements Tests Methods and Making
Effect on oral soft tissue
Effect on oral hard tissues
Effect on dental restorations
Toxicological information about ingredients

Brief Description of Product, Indications and Directions for Use

Fluoride Containing Toothpaste
Helps protect against cavities
Adults and children 2 years of age and older: Brush teeth thoroughly, preferably after each meal or at least twice a day, or as directed by a dentist or physician
Children 2-6 years: Use only a pea-sized amount and supervise child’s brushing and rinsing (to minimize swallowing)
Children under 2 years: Ask a dentist or physician

Ingredients

Active Ingredients:
Sodium monofluorophosphate (0.15% w/v) for anticavity

Inactive Ingredients:
Calcium carbonate, calcium carrageenan, cellulose gum, D&C red #30 lake, D&C #1 blue, flavor, hydrated silica, PEG 8, sodium benzoate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium saccharin, sorbitol, titanium dioxide, water

Label Warnings

Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or dial (412) 390-3381 right away (Poison Control Center)
