ADA Seal Statement

"The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs’ Acceptance of Duane Reade Mint Anticavity Fluoride Rinse is based on its finding that the product is effective in helping to prevent and reduce tooth decay, when used as directed."

Basis for Acceptance

A company earns the ADA Seal for its product by providing evidence that meets the ADA criteria for safety and efficacy. The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs carefully evaluates the evidence according to the Guidelines for Participation in the ADA’s Seal of Acceptance Program. In addition, requirements for this product category include but are not limited to the following criteria:

Clinical studies in humans
Laboratory studies to determine the amount of available fluoride. These tests were also conducted in ADA labs.

Brief Description of Product, Indications and Directions for Use

Aids in prevention of dental cavities.
Alcohol free.
Adults and children 6 years of age and older: Use once a day after brushing with toothpaste.
Remove cap.
Pour 10 milliliters (10 ML mark on inside of cap); do not fill above 10 ML mark.
Vigorously swish 10 milliliters of rinse between your teeth for 1 minute then spit out.
Do not swallow the rinse.
Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after rinsing.
Instruct children under 12 years of age in good rinsing habits (to minimize swallowing).
Supervise children as necessary until capable of using without supervision.
Children under 6: consult a dentist or doctor.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients:
Sodium fluoride 0.05% (0.0226% w/v) for anticavity

Inactive Ingredients:
Cetylpyridinium chloride, edetate calcium disodium, FD&C green no.3, FD&C yellow no. 5, flavor, menthol, methyl salicylate, mono and dibasic sodium phosphates, poloxamer 407, polysorbate 20, potassium sorbate, propylene glycol, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharin, sorbitol, water

Label Warnings

Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for rinsing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
