"The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs’ Acceptance of Efferdent Denture Cleanser/Single-Layer is based on its finding that the product is effective for use in cleaning removable dentures, when used as directed."

Basis for Acceptance

A company earns the ADA Seal for its product by providing evidence that the product is safe and effective. The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs carefully evaluates the evidence according to the Guidelines for Participation in the ADA’s Seal of Acceptance Program. In addition, there is a specific guideline for this product category called Cleansers for Removable Appliances which includes, but is not limited to, the following criteria:

Tests showing that cleanser will not adversely affect appliances and their component materials under conditions of actual use.
Clinical studies demonstrating that the cleanser does not affect the oral tissues and effectively removes stains.

Brief Description of Product, Indications and Directions for Use

Anti-Bacterial Denture Cleanser
Kill 99.9% of the bacteria that cause denture odor
Reduce plaque buildup and remove food particles that can cause gum irritation
Dissolve tough stains in hard to reach places
Keeps dentures fresh and clean
Can be used in any denture bath
Dentures may be soaked safely in Efferdent overnight
Recommended for use on full or partial dentures and removable orthodontic appliances
Directions:
- Drop one tablet into enough very warm water [not hot] to cover denture or appliance
- Place denture into effervescing solution, which will change from blue to clear
- After 15 minutes, remove and rinse denture thoroughly
- For best results, brush dentures using the Efferdent solution and then rinse dentures again.
