ADA Offers Practical Guide to Patients with Medical Conditions
CHICAGO, July 27, 2012 – The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering a new publication, The ADA Practical Guide to Patients with Medical Conditions, to help dentists deliver safe and coordinated care for patients with chronic medical conditions with a book that provides detailed references, images and expert advice from 25 academicians and clinicians.

The ADA Practical Guide addresses 20 medical topics including cardiovascular diseases, endocrine disorders, neurologic and psychiatric disorders, geriatric health and functional issues, HIV/AIDS and medical emergencies. The book Includes over 200 images, over 75 tables, and numerous quick reference points in each chapter. A companion website provides readers with downloadable images and tables, case studies, and a webliography with click-through links to online sources.
The ADA collaborated with Wiley-Blackwell, an international scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publisher of nearly 1,500 peer-reviewed journals and 1,500+ new books annually in print and online.
