Continuing Education Courses (CE)
Are there any CE Courses available outside the U.S. and will
these credits count towards U.S. CE requirements?
Many countries do not sponsor Continuing Education
Courses like the U.S. However, the FDI recently was approved
as an ADA CERP provider. How can my international organization be an ADA Continuing
Education Recognition Program (CERP) provider?
To be granted recognition, applicants must
demonstrate eligibility to apply and
compliance with the 15 standards of the

Certificate of Recognition for Volunteer Service in a Foreign
Country
What is the Certificate of Recognition
for Volunteer Service in a Foreign
Country?
The ADA believes that the personal
effort and self-sacrifice of
Association members who serve as volunteers in
lesser developed countries to improve
the health of their peoples merit professional
and public appreciation and recognition.
Thus, in 1974 the ADA established
a certificate program whereby individuals who meet
the criteria established are
eligible to receive a Certificate of Recognition. How do I apply for a Certificate of Recognition for Volunteer
Service in a Foreign Country?
To receive a Certificate of Recognition
for Volunteer Service in a Foreign
Country, you must fill out an application and meet the criteria
established
by the ADA House

from another country by contacting the respective national dental
association.

for international dentists residing
outside the U.S. The category
is called Affiliate Membership. A dentist
is eligible for affiliate membership
in the ADA if he/she lives

No applications can be submitted for approval
unless we have a copy of your dental degree
and a completed application form. Learn

Apply online or download a membership application for affiliates-dentists
who are not licensed in the United States and are practicing

I am a member of my national dental association. Does that
mean I am an affiliate member?
No. Affiliate members are dentists
living outside the United States
and pay dues directly to the ADA.
I am a
U.S. Licensed dentist practicing
outside the U.S. How can I belong to the ADA?
U.S. licensed dentists currently practicing
outside of the United States who
are not eligible for membership in a constituent and component
dental society, may join the
