ADA, Congress Working to Improve Medicaid RAC Audits
June 24, 2014
The ADA last week asked the National Governor’s Association to support changes in the way states are conducting Medicaid audits. The Association hopes to avoid protracted legislative battles over these issues. The ADA wishes to work with the states toward administrative changes that will foster an environment of cooperation and education instead of raising the punitive burden to a level that discourages participation in Medicaid.
Meanwhile, Rep. Paul Gosar’s (R-Ariz.) secured signatures from 73 of his congressional colleagues for a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell seeking greater transparency in the ACA-implemented Medicaid RAC program and for an official guidance to the states for running the audits.
