Federal Non-Covered Services Act Introduced in U.S. House
August 10, 2015
Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) introduced a bill last week, the Dental and Optometric Care Access Act ("DOC Access Act," H.R. 3323), that would eliminate the insurance company practice of setting prices on procedures not compensated by plans, or non-covered services, and would specifically address insurance plans that fall under federal jurisdiction. The Carter legislation would complement the work done by the ADA Department of State Government Affairs and state associations in helping to pass similar bills in the majority of states.
