Action for Dental Health Legislation Picking Up Cosponsors
June 11, 2015
The ADA-supported Action for Dental Health Act (H.R. 539), introduced earlier this year by Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), now has 50 bipartisan cosponsors.
The bill would allow organizations to qualify for HHS oral health grants to support activities that improve oral health education and dental disease prevention. The legislation would add no additional burden to taxpayers. Rather, it would redirect existing resources to the kinds of programs that are already proven to reduce and eliminate the barriers that prevent millions of Americans from achieving good oral health.
ADA lobbyists are working to find a sponsor in the Senate to introduce companion legislation.
