ADA President to Appear Before House Subcommittee on Behalf of Native American Health
March 06, 2015
The Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies in the U.S. House has accepted the ADA’s request to testify on behalf of the Indian Health Service. ADA President Dr. Maxine Feinberg is scheduled to appear before the subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.), on March 25. As witnesses appearing for the ADA have done in the past, Dr. Feinberg will advocate for adequate funding for IHS dental programs. Federal programs designed to improve dental care access, along with education and prevention measures, are critical to combating the high incidences of oral disease found on American Indian and Alaska Native tribal lands.
