Accreditation Notices

Public Notification of Accreditation Withdraws

The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) is the only accrediting agency for predoctoral dental, allied dental, post-doctoral and advanced specialty dental education programs recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE). In accordance with the USDE regulations for post-secondary accrediting agencies, CODA makes available the following public information: There were no program accreditations withdrawn at the July 31-August 1, 2014 CODA meeting.

Discontinued Programs

The following programs voluntarily discontinued accreditation in July/August 2014:

General Practice Residency Program

  • 81st Medical Group - Keesler AFB, MS

Dental Assisting Program

  • Texas State Technical College - Waco, TX

Dental Hygiene Programs

  • Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College - Mt. Gay, WV

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinical Fellowship-Oncology Program

  • University of Minnesota - Minneapolis, 

The following programs voluntarily discontinued accreditation in January 2014:

Dental Assisting Program

  • Institute for Health Education - Jersey City, NJ (approval via prior mail ballot)

12-month Advanced Education Program in General Practice Residency Program

  • W.W. Hastings Hospital - Tahlequah, OK
