Keynote Speaker - Adam Kreek

Shared Leadership in Times of Change

“You row an ocean by taking one stroke at a time. You build a business by solving one problem at a time. Make forward progress one inch at a time. Inch by inch. Repeat!” - Adam Kreek

As a tripartite organization, the ADA must collaborate nationally, stateside and locally to serve and grow its membership –releasing an incredible power when all three branches work effectively together. How can our tripartite continue to foster a team culture within its individual organizations, as well as across the ADA system? When our teams function optimally, they become excellent tools to ensure resiliency, manage risk, and maximize achievement in times of change. This teamwork builds upon strong cultures and is essential for sustained success. Adam Kreek is an Olympic Gold Medalist, a columnist with CBC Sports and chairs the board of Cowichan Energy Alternatives. Like you, he's in the trenches, building his business and his vocation. He will inspire us to navigate uncertainty, lead from within and ignite under a shared, higher goal.
We will hear Adam’s best practices for managing change and the tools necessary for shared leadership and consistent self-improvement.

Learning Outcomes
  • Manage resistance to change by understanding the “Change Curve”
  • Focus efforts by letting go of the past and concentrating on what can be controlled
  • Gain consensus by developing clear roles within teams and focusing on shared objectives
