DRB Student Loan will now be known as Laurel Road
We have some exciting news to share with you! Starting June 15th, 2017, DRB Student Loan will be known as Laurel Road. The new website is LaurelRoad.com/ADA.
Why the new name?
Over the past few years, we’ve been building a national lending business offering low rates to borrowers just like you. And, as we serve your student loan needs, we are also investing in additional technology and in streamlining our processes to offer the best financial products available. Laurel Road exemplifies this enhanced customer experience – something we work hard to accomplish for you, because you deserve it.
Why Laurel Road?
We understand the road to achieving your life goals is unique, and at times, can be challenging. We respect the commitment and dedication you’ve shown in getting to where you are today, and we believe you deserve to be rewarded as you continue on your path. We’re hoping our improved product offerings will help make your journey just a bit easier – so you can stay focused on the road ahead.
What does this mean for your current loan?
Darien Rowayton Bank will remain the lender on your student loan – Laurel Road is simply the name of the bank’s online lending division.
Our servicing website will change to laurelroad.mohela.com. You can continue to submit your student loan payments through MOHELA, and if you have automatic payments set up, there is no need to make any changes.
We’d love to hear from you, so if you have any questions or want to learn more, please contact our Customer Contact Center at 855.277.6711 or send an email to:
About the Rebrand
Why is Darien Rowayton Bank (DRB) rebranding?
DRB is rebranding our online lending business for strategic reasons. We wanted to create a brand that 1) creates more customer advocacy, 2) aligns better with our customer base, and 3) supports the future product growth of the company.
What exactly does a rebrand entail?
The change to Laurel Road includes a new name, new logo, new website domain and design, and new creative assets for DRB’s national online lending business only. Laurel Road is still part of Darien Rowayton Bank; Laurel Road is the brand of the national online lending division of Darien Rowayton Bank. Darien Rowayton Bank will continue to maintain community bank branches in Darien, Rowayton, and Southport, CT.
What does this rebrand not mean?
DRB’s core business has not fundamentally changed. Our leadership team, operations, and reporting structure remains the same, and we continue to provide customers with a best-in-class experience during their journey to obtain student loan refis, mortgages, or personal loans.
What does the name Laurel Road represent?
The name embodies both the journey (i.e. “Road”) it takes for our customers to achieve their life goals and the inherent satisfaction once those goals are earned (i.e. “Laurel”).
On what date will DRB’s online lending business become Laurel Road?
How Does This Affect Me?
Will the terms of my loan remain the same? Will I continue to receive a member/employee benefit from DRB?
Yes. Nothing about the terms of your loan has changed due to the rebrand.
Who will be my lender after the rebrand? DRB or Laurel Road?
Your lender is still Darien Rowayton Bank. Starting June 15th, you will receive student loan statements from Laurel Road, the online lending division of Darien Rowayton Bank.
Does the rebrand change my student loan servicer or where I make my student loan payments?
MOHELA is still your student loan servicer. Starting June 15th, the servicing website will change to laurelroad.mohela.com. Our former servicing website, drb.mohela.com, will redirect to the new Laurel Road branded site. You can continue to submit your student loan payments through MOHELA, and if you have automatic payments set up, there is no need to make any changes.
Where can I access my completed loan application and applications for new lending products?
Your completed student loan application and applications for new lending products, which previously lived on studentapp.drbank.com
, can now be accessed at sl.laurelroad.com
. The username and password that you created to access the DRB Dashboard is the same for the Laurel Road Dashboard.
How does the Student Loan Referral Program work under Laurel Road?
Our Student Loan Referral Program has not changed with the rebrand. Any individual who refers their friends or family members to refinance their student loan(s) with Laurel Road will earn $300 when the referred borrower closes their student loan with us. If you referred a borrower to us before the rebrand occurred, you will still be eligible to receive $300 when the borrower closes their student loan.
Who should I contact if I have additional questions or feedback? How do I contact Laurel Road going forward?
Please direct any questions you may have about the rebrand to our Customer Contact Center at 855-277-6771.
