Stanford Award deadline extended
August 20, 2012
The ADA Standards Program has extended the deadline to Sept. 30 to apply for the John W. Stanford New Investigator Award. Dental students and new dentists working on original research in the realm of dental standards may apply.
Dr. Stanford, who died in 2011, was a 40-year ADA employee and played a pivotal part in standards setting and development. He is credited with establishing the ADA’s current standards program.
Dental students or dentists who received their D.D.S. or D.M.D. degrees no more than five years prior to the time of selection are eligible. Submissions must be original research that addresses some aspect of the use of standards in dental research or clinical application.
The winner will receive airfare and accommodation to present the winning research at the March 2013 ADA Standards Committee annual meeting in Seattle.
