Vermont holds sixth Free Dental Care Day for Adults
July 16, 2012
Dental practices across Vermont delivered thousands of dollars in free care to hundreds of people May 5 for the sixth Free Dental Care Day for Adults held in the state. With the support of the Vermont State Dental Society and the United Way, 264 dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and other volunteers provided nearly $352,000 in free care to 560 Vermonters in nine counties. The all-day event provided oral health screenings, preventive care, extractions and dental restorative care to low-income adults who do not have dental insurance or who are underinsured and can’t afford to pay out of pocket.
