March 19, 2012

By Jean Williams, ADA News staff

Treating dental patients can offer ethical dilemmas. Dental students can show off their creativity and their knowledge of the ADA Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct by entering the 2012 Dental Student Ethics Video Contest.

A grand prize winner will receive $2,000. First honorable mention winner will receive $1,000.

Participation is limited to current members of the American Student Dental Association.

Entries must illustrate a scenario that demonstrates some aspect of the ADA Code, which can be found at www.ada.org/ethicsconduct. Entries must contain only original content or content that the public can use.

Deadline for submission is July 31. A new prescreening deadline has been added this year. The prescreening deadline is June 29.

Prescreening is a service through which entrants can request a review of their videos to ensure compliance with the official rules.

Contact Earl Sewell at sewelle@ada.org for entry forms and complete contest rules. Previous winning videos may be viewed at Student Ethics Video Contest.
