Correctional meeting convenes Oct. 20-24 in Las Vegas

Las Vegas—Health care professionals in correctional settings will gather to celebrate National Correctional Health Professional Week and learn the latest in research and best practices affecting this field at the National Conference on Correctional Health Care Oct. 20-24 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel.
Nearly 2,000 participants are expected to attend this annual event, which offers more than 100 interactive seminars and workshops targeted to nursing; mental health; leadership, management and workforce development; infectious disease; organizational excellence and practice improvement; special populations; health promotion, prevention and recovery; pharmacy; clinical care; and legal and ethical issues. Special programs will also address the Affordable Care Act, National Commission on Correctional Health Care standards and the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act.
The opening ceremony keynote speaker will be Thomas Grisso, Ph.D. Dr. Grisso has spent three decades engaged in research and consultation to improve laws and policies applied to child and adult offenders, and to enhance the quality of forensic and mental health services in criminal, juvenile and civil justice systems.
Conference registrants receive admission to all educational sessions, opening ceremony and keynote address, educational luncheons, roundtable discussions, marketplace trade show, all exhibit hall functions, conference proceedings on flash drive, continuing education credit and access to the NCCHC bookstore.
