Michael Springer named senior vice president for Business and Publishing

Michael Springer, ADA managing vice president for Publishing since 2010, has been appointed senior vice president for Business and Publishing.
In this new role, Mr. Springer will be responsible for leading the ADA's business development, both for new business activities across the Association and for existing business units in Publishing, Corporate Relations, and Conferences and Continuing Education. These three divisions account for nearly half of the ADA's non-dues revenue and in-kind contributions.
“In his tenure at the ADA, Michael has excelled at introducing new products and innovations during a time of dramatic transformation in the information and dental industries,” said Dr. Kathleen T. O'Loughlin, ADA executive director and chief operating officer. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position, and I am confident he will be very successful in his new venture.”
In his new position, Mr. Springer will oversee the ADA's annual product strategy (working in close collaboration with the Division of Membership) and for identifying business opportunities for new and existing ADA products and services with high member value, dues revenue and/or non-dues revenue growth.

Before joining the ADA staff, Mr. Springer was with the American Academy of Family Physicians, working closely with corporate relations and other divisions to develop strategic partnerships with both professional and consumer companies.
Earlier in his career, he served as president and CEO of American Hospital Publishing, Inc., and was senior vice president of business development for an Internet health care company.
