Registration open for Conference on Dentist Health and Well-Being

The president and CEO of the Partnership for a Drug Free America will deliver the keynote address at the Conference on Dentist Health and Well-Being this year.
The agenda for the conference—scheduled for Sept. 19-20 at ADA Headquarters in Chicago—promises a lineup of speakers who will provide personal and anecdotal stories to help dentists lead a healthier life. Attendees will be treated to two days filled with speakers, breakout sessions, networking, and opportunities to attend Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Al-Anon meetings and visit a range of motion clinic.
Partnership for a Drug Free America's CEO and President Stephen J. Pasierb will discuss “Insights From an Epidemic: The Medicine Abuse Project.” Other program highlights include:
•Dr. Dale Kennedy will share his story of having cancer and suffering from addiction and ergonomic pain.
•Al J. Mooney, M.D., who practices addiction and family medicine in North Carolina and Georgia, will present “How We Can Apply Current Research to Addiction and Recovery.”
•Lynn R. Webster, M.D., medical director at CRILifetree, will discuss “8 Reliable Principles to Safe Opioid Prescribing.”
•George Kenna, Ph.D., will present “Alcoholism and Other Drug Use by Dentists and Other Health Care Professionals.”
•Issac Boose, director of Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services-Pine Grove Next Step, will discuss “Burnout and Stress: Symptoms, Causes and Prevention.”
•Patrick Sammon, Ph.D., and Dr. John Lindroth will present “Pain Management, Addictive Disorders and Patient Monitoring: the Dentist's Role.”
