The ADA Seal was in the spotlight when it was lauded as a winning attribute of a water filtration product featured in February on the Home Shopping Network.
The Home Shopping Network, or HSN, is a television network that airs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and features a variety of products for purchase.
The PUR Advanced Water Filtration System was showcased in a segment on HSN TV that pointed out that the system has earned the ADA Seal from the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs “based on its finding that the product is an effective water filter that does NOT remove fluoride from tap water.”
Visit the ADA's consumer website MouthHealthy.org for a complete list of oral care products with the ADA Seal of Acceptance.
Dentists and hygienists are encouraged to suggest patients visit MouthHealthy.org to browse ADA Seal products by company, product name or category and for detailed product descriptions, active ingredients, instructions for use, warnings and background on each product's acceptance. Patients can even print out comparisons of product attributes.
The ADA conducts a rigorous investigation of each product submitted for the ADA Seal of Acceptance, including evaluation of scientific data from clinical and/or laboratory testing to determine whether the product meets ADA criteria for product safety and effectiveness.
Companies that would like to submit products for ADA Seal consideration should contact Clifford Whall, Ph.D., director of the Acceptance Program, toll free at ext. 3528 or visit ada.org/seal for information.
