Georgia Dental Association names new executive director

Atlanta—The Georgia Dental Association named Frank J. Capaldo, a former president and CEO of the Independent Bankers Association of New York State, Inc., as its new executive director, effective March 3.
"Frank is an exceptional leader who will ensure that Georgia Dental Association dentists continue to enjoy a high caliber of member services," said Dr. Marshall Mann, GDA president.
Mr. Capaldo replaces honorary ADA member Martha S. Phillips, who retired last year. Associate Executive Director Nelda Greene, who has served as interim director since August 2013, will return to associate director duties on March 3.
Along with the Independent Bankers Association of New York State, Mr. Capaldo has also served as executive director and CEO of the National Franchisee Association, Inc., where he founded and was the first chairman of the Coalition of Franchisee Associations Inc. He has also served as president and CEO of Eastern Building Material Dealers Association. He began his career in associations as a general counsel with an expertise in advocacy and policy issues.
Mr. Capaldo holds bachelor's degrees in business and sociology from Susquehanna University, a master's degree in statistic analysis from Rutgers University, and received his doctorate in law from the University of Dayton School of Law.
