ADA 2014 special events sparkle
May 19, 2014
Plan some time for fun during ADA 2014—America's Dental Meeting by attending the Welcome Celebration Oct. 9 and the ADA Foundation Give Kids A Smile Gala Oct. 10.
ADA meeting-goers can experience a Texas-style tailgate and dance party Oct. 9, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Historic Sunset Station.
"The Welcome Celebration is a great way for everyone to experience an authentic Texas party," said Dr. Risé Martin, chair of the 2014 Committee on Local Arrangements. "This will give our guests a chance to kick up their heels and have fun and experience Texas hospitality like they never have before."
Tailgating dates back to the very first college football game between Rutgers and Princeton in 1869, when fans traveled to the game by carriage, grilling sausages and burgers at the "tail end" of the horse.
Guests can enjoy the sights, sounds and excitement of game day at ADA 2014 with friends and colleagues. This special event will feature interactive games, live music and dancing during the first night of the meeting.
The cost is $65 for adults and $35 for children under 12 and includes round-trip transportation from ADA hotels, party admission, Texas-style tailgate fare and two drink tickets for beer, wine, soft drinks and bottled water.
The ADA Foundation Give Kids A Smile Gala will be held Oct. 10, 7-11:30 p.m., at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter.
ADA attendees are encouraged to join their friends and colleagues for a light-hearted evening honoring ADA President Charles Norman and the ADA Board of Trustees, while celebrating the national success of Give Kids A Smile.
Tickets are $250, and $100 of each ticket is a tax-deductible charitable donation to the ADA Foundation for future support of the Give Kids A Smile program. Price includes dinner and dancing.
