Volunteer in Tanzania

May 19, 2014

The American Dental Association, in cooperation with Health Volunteers Overseas, is assisting dental faculty at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, by developing programs to provide chairside instruction and lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as continuing education for the faculty.

ADA and HVO are seeking licensed dentists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons to spend two weeks mentoring and training the students at this site. Areas of focus are oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, preventive and restorative dentistry and pediatric dentistry.

HVO, with support from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, will offer volunteers up to $1,500 toward expenses associated with serving at this site.  Non-funded opportunities are available in Cambodia, Kenya, Nicaragua and Rwanda.
