Dental assistants receive scholarships

The American Dental Assistants Association and the Dental Assisting National Board have announced five winners of a joint scholarship.
The ADAA/DANB Scholarship is open to all ADAA members in good standing and is intended to help dental assistants turn their professional development plans into reality. The scholarship committee looked for dental assistants who demonstrated a strong commitment to career growth and lifelong learning in the profession.
This year’s winners are:
- Kim Arny, certified dental assistant, will apply her scholarship toward a forensic odontology course that is part of training for a statewide emergency response program.
- Eden Cepala is completing a dental assisting program and plans on taking the DANB national exam and her state’s exam.
- Kelli Fedder, CDA, plans to use her scholarship toward a bachelor’s degree. She hopes to become a dental assisting instructor.
- Charles Tran, CDA, wants to earn the Certified Preventive Functions Dental Assistant and Certified Restorative Functions Dental Assistant certifications.
