Nominations open for awards honoring EBD leaders

July 22, 2015

By Michelle Manchir

Nominations are open now until Aug. 30 for three awards that honor dental school faculty and practitioners who have made significant contributions to implement and advance evidence-based dentistry.

Two of the awards seek to honor accomplished faculty and mid-career faculty who demonstrate leadership in implementing EBD in research, practice or education or contribute to the scientific knowledge base of EBD. Nominees should be ADA or American Association for Dental Research members.

The third award honors practitioners who demonstrate leadership in implementing EBD to improve patient care in a private practice or public health setting and encourage colleagues to use research findings in practice. Nominees should be ADA members.

The ADA and American Association for Dental Research will give out the awards at a joint reception of the ADA's EBD Champions Conference and the AADR Fall Focused Symposium on Nov. 4 in Washington, D.C.

This event immediately precedes ADA 2015 – America's Dental Meeting, which is Nov. 5-10 in Washington, D.C.

To register for the EBD Champions Conference or to apply or nominate someone for the awards, visit ebd.ada.org.
