Washington — The Partnership for Medicaid, a national coalition chaired by America’s Essential Hospitals, held its annual Capitol Hill briefing Sept. 28.
The briefing, “Medicaid’s Next 50 Years: Perspectives from the Field,” focused on perspectives of the program at work in communities around the country and opportunities as a result of the Affordable Care Act. Thomas Gellhaus, M.D., president-elect of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, discussed efforts in Texas to establish patient-centered medical homes for pregnant women enrolled in Medicaid to provide an array of services, including the need to coordinate dental services for this population.
