University of Pittsburgh opens new research pavilion

Grand opening: University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Patrick Gallagher addresses the faculty, alumni and guests during a Sept. 15 ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for the Commons and Research Pavilion, hosted by the Schools of Dental Medicine and Pharmacy. The new facility is a multiyear project consisting of a spacious research tower and welcoming atrium, which includes a coffee shop and showcases original art. The new Research Pavilion also includes a 40-chair conference room and provides an additional 36,000 square feet in dedicated laboratory space for the schools of Dental Medicine and Pharmacy.
