New offering at ADA 2015 includes course plus wine

Washington — What is better than an informal, peer-to-peer discussion about a thought-provoking subject in dentistry led by experts in the field?
An informal, peer-to-peer discussion about a thought-provoking subject in dentistry led by experts in the field — with a glass of wine.
That is the idea behind a new offering at ADA 2015 — America’s Dental Meeting in November in Washington, D.C.
Three sessions called Wine Down With the Experts are scheduled for successive days at the annual meeting, all moderated by Dr. Barry Cohen, continuing education chair for ADA 2015.
With each one-hour course limited to 20 participants, Dr. Cohen said the session will provide plenty of opportunities for attendees to bring questions, case examples and subject theories to share in the small group setting.
The casual atmosphere doesn’t mean that the topics of discussion will be flavorless.
“I wanted three topics that people have different opinions on,” said Dr. Cohen, who practices in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. “These are hot topics.”
Each session costs $25 and includes a glass of wine. Participants will receive one hour of CE credit.
The sessions are:
- Wine Down With the Experts: TMD, Occlusion, Splint Therapy (course 5806), with Drs. Jeffrey P. Okeson, Terry T. Tanaka and Dewitt Wilkerson, at 3 p.m. Nov. 5.
Wine Down With the Experts: Dental Sleep Medicine (course 6806), with Drs. Steve Carstensen and Jamison R. Spencer, at 3 p.m. Nov. 6.
Wine Down With the Experts: Implant Surgery (course 7804), with Drs. Peter Shatz, Lee H. Silverstein, Jon B. Suzuki and Kevin Suzuki, at 2 p.m. Nov. 7.
