Wending the Web: New ADA.org software boosts search success
February 19, 2016
The ADA Feb. 8 added a new search software on its websites to enhance onsite search experience and help each visitor receive relevant search results that lead to informative Web content.
By using Coveo search software, ADA websites' onsite search now includes:
- More inclusive search results: Search results can now include a greater amount of ADA content, including articles from JADA, continuing education courses, New Dentist Now blog posts and PDFs that accompany ADA initiatives.
- Predictive search recommendations: As visitors type their search terms, potential keyword matches and suggestions appear. Also, the search engine suggests keywords if it detects a misspelled term.
- Advanced search filters and sorting: Visitors can refine their searches to include or exclude specific ADA websites and content types. They can also sort results by relevancy, date and alphabetical order.
In addition, the new software allows the ADA to refine many elements of onsite search to continually meet the needs of visitors.
The new onsite search experience for ADA websites is an important step in the continued evolution of ADA digital efforts, allowing thousands of people access ADA content more efficiently and discover information the ADA offers, according to the ADA Council on Communications.
Each month, ADA members and members of the public conduct over 50,000 searches on ADA websites ranging from "HIPAA" to "Fluoride."
