ADA unveils revamped CE Online website
October 03, 2016
In an effort to help members who go online for their continuing education, the ADA unveiled Oct. 3 a new ADA Online CE website, which the Association says is more functional and efficient.
"Dentists look to the ADA for solid information and engaging education," said James Goodman, Division of Conferences and Continuing Education vice president. "The ADA decided a few years back to focus and invest in elevating our online CE enterprise given vast alternatives."
The ADA, he said, focused on improving CE Online's content, speakers and user experience with an emphasis on high-tech and interactive video courses.
"Relaunching our online CE platform internally was the next logical step," Mr. Goodman said.
New features on the website include 24/7 access to continuing education transcripts (including self-reported, state and local) and overall higher quality of video and education — which differentiates it from competitive websites that only offer PowerPoint slides with voice over, according to Mr. Goodman.
Many courses were available at the launch, and the catalog continues to grow. These courses include Day to Day Technology to Improve Your Practice, The Patient History, Physical Evaluation and Risk Assessment, and Infection Control and OSHA 2016. Costs, which are competitive to other continuing education online websites, are $49 per credit hour for members; $69 for nonmembers.
