Don’t burst that bubble: Sugar Free Bazooka awarded ADA Seal
September 09, 2016
Consumers who seek out ADA Seal-Accepted products have a bubbly new option.
The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs earlier this year awarded the Seal to Bazooka Sugar Free Bubble Gum, in both its original and “blue razz” flavors.
The Council awarded the Seal “based on its finding that the physical action of chewing Bazooka Sugar Free Bubble Gum for 20 minutes after eating stimulates saliva flow, which helps to prevent cavities by reducing plaque acids and strengthening teeth.”
To earn the Seal, a company must submit material lists for review and demonstrate that the product meets ADA requirements for product safety and efficacy and ADA-developed dental standards. The product undergoes rigorous investigation, including evaluation of scientific data from clinical and laboratory testing.
Bazooka is one of 10 sugar free gums that have been awarded the ADA Seal. The other chewing gums with the Seal are 5 Sugarfree Gum, Dentyne Ice Sugarless Gum, Eclipse Sugarfree Gum, Extra Sugarfree Gum, Ice Breakers Ice Cubes Sugar Free Chewing Gum, Orbit for Kids Sugarfree Gum, Orbit Sugarfree Gum, Stride Sugarless Gum and Trident Sugarfree Gum.
