Learn to send secure email at ADA 2016
September 09, 2016
Dental professionals can witness practical demonstrations of email image exchange that are fully compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements at ADA 2016 – America’s Dental Meeting, thanks to a course from the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Informations in partnership with the ADA Practice Institute.
The presentation, titled Live from Denver! It’s Secure Exchange of Dental Data, provides two hours of continuing education credit at no cost with ADA 2016 registration.
The course, which will take place in an Exhibit Hall theater, will demonstrate the live exchange of dental patient imaging files using a third-party health information service provider to provide the security and encryption needed to meet HIPAA requirements. The course highlights include a live demonstration of an in-office computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing system, and real-time milling of a restoration from a digital file. A digital camera will scan a model and then the data file will be transmitted to the CAD/CAM unit through the secure exchange system.
“We have assembled an excellent team to provide demonstrations that offer the latest bottom-line information pertinent to the daily operations and concerns of ‘real world’ practicing dentists,” said program moderator Dr. Gregory Zeller, who is the Standards Committee on Dental Informatics chair.
Seats for this course are still available for the session scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 (course number 6911).
