Association offers reduced rate on license to show movies, other programs in dental office

January 23, 2017

By Kelly Soderlund

A dental waiting room could be more than old magazines and newspapers.

Under an agreement with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation, the ADA can offer member dentists a reduced-rate Umbrella License to legally show movies and other audiovisual programs in their waiting and exam rooms. Dentists who purchase the license have access to a wide array of movies, popular children's programs, educational documentaries and other audiovisual content to show in a copyright compliant manner.

Movies are available from more than 1,000 Hollywood studios, independent, special interest, children-related and foreign producers. Once dentists secure a license, they can rent or buy movies to play without any further reporting. All formats — DVD, stream or download — are covered.
