ADA Business Resources announces SecureMail by PBHS, Microsoft Outlook integration

March 28, 2017 ADA members who use SecureMail by PBHS can now send encrypted communications from Microsoft Outlook in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
    
ADA Business Resources announced March 27 that SecureMail by PBHS, its endorsed secure communication solution to assist practices in remaining HIPAA compliant, now integrates directly with Microsoft Outlook.
    
This means that treatment letters and private communications, including radiographs sent from digital X-ray systems, that are delivered from dental practices' management software to Outlook are now encrypted.
    
The enhancement to the secure communication program helps decrease the chances of an accidental HIPAA violation, according to ADA Business Resources. As with regular SecureMail solution, data remains encrypted from start to reception, and only the message recipients are able to decode messages, documents and radiographs.

A SecureMail account starts at $10 per month, and the Outlook Integration is available at an additional $3 per month. There are no setup fees and no contracts for ADA members. ADA members are pre-certified and can create an account by logging into PBHS.com/SecureMail with their member ID to verify their practice.
