March 28 webinar to focus on gender differences in earnings in three professions

March 14, 2017 Why do earnings vary by gender in careers such as dentistry, medicine and law?

That's the focus of a new ADA Health Policy Institute webinar, Why Do Men Earn More Than Women in Medicine, Law and Dentistry?

The March 28 webinar will discuss a new HPI study that compares the gender gap in earnings in medicine, law and dentistry and how things are changing over time.

The webinar will be hosted by Marko Vujicic, Ph.D., chief economist and vice president, HPI, and Tony LoSasso, Ph.D., professor, Division of Health Policy and Administration, School of Public Health, University of Illinois at Chicago.

The webinar's panelists include:

  • Dr. Carol Gomez Summerhays, past president, American Dental Association;
  • Diana Lautenberger, director, Women in Medicine & Science, Association of American Medical Colleges;
  • Lisa Simpson, president and chief executive officer, AcademyHealth
  • Patricia (Pat) Gillette, lawyer, author and former member of the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and the Task Force on Gender Equity.
