CDT 2009/2010, companion guide available from ADA Catalog

Do coding right the first time with the new Current Dental Terminology 2009/2010 book and CDT Companion: Your Guide to Dental Coding.

CDT 2009/2010, which includes a helpful CD-ROM, reflects code changes effective Jan. 1, 2009. There are more than 30 new or revised codes. Because the changes may directly affect claims, the new edition has an expanded questions and answers section that includes information on the ADA claim form and claim submission.

Another change is the update and expansion of the glossary and alphabetic index, which links terms to applicable pages in the Code, the Q&A and the glossary.

The 2009-2010 CDT Companion helps to refine and update coding skills. Spiral bound and compact, it also includes the basics of how to submit claims to medical insurance companies, including the CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and ICD-9-CM (International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification), codes most commonly used by dentists.

There are 23 clinical practice scenarios to help develop everyday coding skills and a fold-out quick reference guide with the most commonly used codes, as well as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act overview and the glossary of commonly used acronyms in electronic commerce. CDT and the Companion offer a deeper understanding of the Code's structure.

Both are available online at www.adacatalog.org or by calling 1-800-947-4746. The kit is item No. K010. Save $10 by using reference priority code 78119A.
