Dental industry offers humanitarian aid for Haiti
The dental industry is responding to help earthquake victims in Haiti. Some companies providing humanitarian assistance include:
- Aseptico in Woodinville, Wash.—Aseptico has established special conditions and expedited delivery of portable dental equipment needed to treat survivors, as well as to help identify the deceased. - Henry Schein Dental, Melville, N.Y.—Henry Schein Inc. and its supplier partners have earmarked $1 million in medical supplies to partner nongovernmental organizations that are providing relief and pallets of supplies are already en route to several partner NGOs. Schein also has established a Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund through its Henry Schein Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, and will match all donations contributed to this fund by Team Schein Members. The proceeds will be applied directly and completely to relief efforts. Anyone wishing to contribute should send a check payable to "Henry Schein Cares Foundation" with "Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund" noted in the memo of the check, to Dewi Wijaya, Henry Schein Inc., 135 Duryea Road, Melville, NY 11747.
- Ivoclar Vivadent Inc., Amherst, N.Y.—Ivoclar Vivadent AG will contribute 300,000 Swiss franks to a fundraising campaign organized by the Red Cross organization of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
