ADA to meet in Orlando

Orlando, Fla.—Planning a trip to the ADA's 151st annual session in Orlando is just a few mouse clicks away—registration and housing are open online at www.ada.org/goto/session.

Nearly 250 annual session continuing education programs will be held Oct. 9-12—and more than half of the lectures offered are free with registration.

The ADA World Marketplace Exhibition will be open for business Oct. 9-11, and the House of Delegates meetings are set for Oct. 9-13.

New this year, the meeting will convene in the Orange County Convention Center’s North/South building. Conveniently located on International Drive, the building offers spacious accommodations for the entire annual session, including continuing education courses, the World Marketplace Exhibition, free CE on the exhibit floor at the ADA’s LOC (Learn, Optimize, Connect), the ADA Pavilion, the Opening General Session and more—all in one centralized location.

The annual session special event, "ADA Night at Universal’s Islands of Adventure," is set for Sunday evening, Oct. 10. Ticket holders will have exclusive access to the theme park and all its unique islands, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, set to open this spring. Inspired by J.K. Rowling's compelling stories and characters—and faithful to the visual landscapes of the films—The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure will provide visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience complete with multiple attractions, shops and a signature eating establishment.

The ADA tour program can help registrants make the most of their stay in Orlando. More than 20 unique activities, from a backstage safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom to a tour of Kennedy Space Center and lunch with an astronaut, are available.

Those registering can also make housing arrangements. There are more than 30 Orlando-area hotels offering discounted rates for annual session attendees, and convenient shuttle service will be available between these hotels and the convention center.

Orlando is also home to nearly 100 theme parks and attractions; 176 golf courses and many other outdoor recreational options; thriving nightlife venues; spa services; shopping for all tastes and budgets; and thousands of dining options, from casual to upscale.

Annual session registrants can purchase discounted tickets to some of Orlando’s hottest attractions—seven Walt Disney World parks including Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, DisneyQuest, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon; Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk; SeaWorld Orlando; and a series of dinner shows.

Getting around Orlando is easy and convenient with I•RIDE Trolleys that span the International Drive resort area. Trolleys run every 20-30 minutes and make dozens of stops at shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and attractions.

The I•RIDE Trolley Web site, www.iridetrolley.com, offers complete information, including route maps and a list of businesses near each stop.
