Clinic winners: Fourth-year dental students Neker E. Bernuy and Angela M. Mathew (second and third from left) are honored as winners of the first Education Exchange Competition Oct. 3 at annual session in Honolulu. Congratulating them are Drs. Stephen Carstensen (left), 2009 program chair and 2010 general chair for the Council on ADA Sessions; Kent Percy, CAS 2011 program chair and Richard Rounsavelle, CAS member. |
Entrants can educate their peers on a new procedure, theory, service or emerging dental practice trend and have their professional table clinic showcased in a high-tech multimedia format at the ADA Competition Hub in the LOC on the ADA World Marketplace Exhibit Floor Oct. 9-11 during the annual session.
"The Education Exchange Competition gives attendees a chance to find out what's really happening with their peers in dentistry and earn one hour of CE credit," said Dr. Rise Lyman, 2010 program chair for the Council on ADA Sessions. "Those participating in the competition will be able to share the benefits of their clinical experiences with their colleagues and earn three hours of CE."
Entrants should submit their clinics by July 31 in a PowerPoint format online at ADA365.org. A panel from the Council on ADA Sessions will judge the presentations.
Clinics will be displayed on a continuous loop at the Competition Hub on the exhibit floor at the Orange County Convention Center from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Oct. 9-11. The competition is sponsored by Cleankeys Inc.
The ADA's LOC will offer attendees the opportunity to Learn, Optimize and Connect while earning up to 12 free continuing education units. Located in the World Marketplace Exhibition, the LOC features more than 51,000 square feet of the latest high-tech trends in dentistry including the Laser Pavilion, the 3-D Imaging Center, the Technology Expo and more.
