Dr. Campos to present award-winning course at annual session
Dr. Campos

Orlando, Fla.—Dr. Luiza Campos, the winner of the annual scientific contest at the Congresso Internacional de Odontologia de São Paulo, or CIOSP, in São Paulo, Brazil, will showcase her presentation at the ADA annual session Oct. 12.

Dr. Campos will present the free course, Polymerization Shrinkage Evaluation: New Methodology (course 8302), Oct. 12, 8-9:30 a.m. at the Orange County Convention Center.

Dr. Campos, who has dental and master’s degrees, is a Ph.D. student in Nuclear Technology of Materials at the Center of Chemistry at the Energy and Nuclear Research Institute, Universidade de São Paulo in collaboration with the Dental Materials Department of the School of Dental Medicine, Universidade do Porto (Portugal).

She was one of hundreds of applicants from across Brazil who participated in the CIOSP scientific competition. This is the fifth year that a CIOSP competition winner has presented a CE course at annual session.

Dr. Campos will share with participants a new method for evaluating polymerization shrinkage that she developed. The method offers an innovative way to evaluate the contraction of commercial and experimental formulations of dental composites. Dr. Campos will also discuss the versatility of using a high concentration of nano-inorganic materials.

This course is sponsored by the ADA and the São Paulo Dental Association, and facilitated by the ADA Division of Global Affairs.
