ADA World Marketplace exhibition features the latest products, technologies and free CE
Orlando, Fla.—The 2010 ADA World Marketplace Exhibition will showcase the latest products, technologies and techniques in dentistry—plus offer hours of free continuing education—Oct. 9-11 at the Orange County Convention Center.
The ADA World Marketplace exhibit floor will offer annual session goers three full days to view and compare dentistry's latest products and services, meet with suppliers and earn up to 24 hours of free continuing education credit in the ADA’s LOC. The ADA World Marketplace will be open from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
The ADA's LOC (where registrants can learn, optimize and connect) will feature 51,000 square feet of high tech dentistry products and continuing education.
Those interested in testing out a variety of dental lasers can register in advance for a free hands-on workshop at the Laser Pavilion in the LOC. The free workshops will be held daily from 10 a.m.-noon or 2-4 p.m., and participants will earn two hours of CE credit. Participants will learn safe and effective use of laser technology, basic laser physics, operating modes, delivery systems and clinical uses for lasers. Caries removal, cavity preparation, osseous crown lengthening, gingival contouring, coagulation, sulcular debridement and use of lasers for tissue management for final prosthetic impressions will be covered. Other exciting free CE opportunities await registered attendees who want to learn, optimize and connect at the LOC throughout the three-day exhibition, whether it's to fill a free hour with CE or to explore new technologies and products in depth.
Participants can choose any of seven unique one-hour courses at the Pride Institute Technology Expo. The expo will feature the 2010 Pride Institute Best in Class award winners, including Dentrix—Henry Schein Practice Solutions, Gendex Dental Systems, DEXIS Platinum, Discus Dental and Tekscan Inc.
Tickets are not required to attend the courses. Participants earn one hour of CE credit for each course attended. The Technology Expo lecture topics include:
- The Modern Continuing Care Experience, presented by Amy Morgan, CEO of Pride Institute. Learn how to create the ideal cutting edge hygiene department that inspires your patients to new levels of loyalty and commitment. (Oct. 9, 10-10:45 a.m., Oct. 11, 3-3:45 p.m.)
- New Frontier Feedback—What Really Engages and Attracts Patients Through Online Strategies, by Dr. Lou Shuman, president of Pride Institute, and Frith Maier, founder of Sesame Communications. Based on in-depth survey results from the top industry experts discover the musts for your website to create awareness, engage potential patients and convert to loyal patients. - The Key to Creating a New Technology Culture in Your Practice for You, Your Team and Your Patients, by Amy Morgan, CEO of Pride Institute. This course covers how to create a strategic plan that rises above change resistance so that your practice can innovate and integrate. (Oct. 9, 12:30-1:15 p.m., Oct. 10, 3-3:45 p.m.)
- Your High Tech Dental Toolbox: Technology to Enhance Your Practice, by Dr. Marty Jablow. Technology allows dentists to treat patients and manage their practices more easily. Participants will look inside the Dental Technology Toolbox and find the tools that they may own and are not maximizing, along with tools that they might want to consider using. - Social Media 101, by Barbara Jacobucci, Sesame Communications. Utilize the dental team to create new levels of communication and partnership with patients through easy to implement social media strategies. (Oct. 9, 3-3:45 p.m., Oct. 11, 12:30-1:15 p.m.)
- Utilizing a Baseline of Norms for Defining Return on Investment, by Amy Morgan, CEO of Pride Institute. Discover how to benchmark and goal set for maximal ROI when purchasing new technologies and implementing new clinical initiatives. (Oct. 10, 10-10:45 a.m., Oct. 11, 10-10:45 a.m.)
- Before You Write the Check... What Every Dentist Must Know to Maximize New Technology and Clinical Innovations, by Dr. Lou Shuman, president of Pride Institute. Follow a checklist that will ensure purchases will never gather dust for lack of implementation. (Oct. 10, 11:15 a.m.-noon and 1:45-2:30 p.m.)
Session goers who want to compare the latest in cone beam imaging technology and view images on multiple flat screen monitors should visit the 3-D Imaging Center in the LOC. Courses are presented by the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Informatics and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Participants can view the four unique annual session competition entries at the high-tech Competition Hub in the LOC and earn up to six hours of CE credit. On display will be PowerPoint entries for the Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year Competition, sponsored by 3M ESPE; the Education Exchange Competition (professional table clinics, redesigned), sponsored by Cleankeys Inc.; the 2010 Dental Office Design Competition, sponsored by Matsco, a Wells Fargo Company; and the ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program.
Two dozen companies will launch new products and services through the ADA New Product Launch program at annual session. Those attending can visit individual vendor booths on the exhibit floor and visit the New Product Showcase in the 2200 aisle.
