ADAF seeks applications for Harris Fund for Children's Dental Health

Non-profit organizations that sponsor programs for mothers and caregivers to help reduce the incidence of early childhood caries are invited to submit an application for the ADA Foundation's Samuel Harris Fund for Children's Dental Health Grant Program. 

The Request for Applications is posted at www.adafoundation.org. Applications are due Jan. 8, 2010. Competitive grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded solely for prenatal and postnatal oral health instruction for mothers/caregivers. Due to limited funding this year approximately 8-10 grants will be made. 

In 1998, Dr. Samuel Harris, a noted pediatric dentist and philanthropist, challenged the then ADA Health Foundation to match his generous donation and endow a fund for prevention of childhood dental disease. Dr. Harris' legacy and spirit of giving lives on in the ADAF Harris Fund for Children's Dental Health, which has enabled the ADA Foundation to provide annual grants to non-profit organizations and positively impact children's lives for more than10 years.
