Winning student ethics videos to debut at ADA Annual Session
Las Vegas—The ADA Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs has announced the winning videos for the 2011 Student Ethics Video Contest.
This year’s grand prize goes to “The Bridge Patient” by Christopher Vo, a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Mr. Vo will receive a $2,000 cash award.
Students from the Indiana University School of Dentistry received the honorable mention award for their video entry “Back to Ethics.” Ewelina Ciula, Ali S. Sajadi, Katherine M. Hungate, Tadziu J. Kula III and Gabrielle M. Johnson will share the $1,000 prize money.
The grand prize video “The Bridge Patient” focuses on the ADA Codes 5A-Representation of Care and 3B-Government of a Profession; while the video “Back to Ethics,” illustrates four of the five ADA Code Principles—Patient Autonomy, Nonmaleficence, Justice and Veracity.
The videos will be displayed at the 2011 ADA Annual Session in a continuous loop from Monday, Oct. 10 through Wednesday, Oct. 12 (7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) in the Registration Area located in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
