Resources available for treating special needs patients

Washington—Dental professionals who treat children with special health care needs can find journal articles, materials and organizations listed in Oral Health Services for Children and Adolescents with Special Health Care Needs: A Resource Guide Second Edition.

The booklet, offered by the National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center, covers topics including continuing education, financing of care, disease prevention and early intervention strategies, public education, and state and national data and programs.

The electronic guide, Resource Highlights: Focus on Children with Special Health Care Needs, is also available. This resource includes a short list of resources and offers automated PubMed and OHRC library search options.
