Prosthodontists to hold oral health cancer screening Nov. 4

San Diego—The American College of Prosthodontists will hold its first Oral Health Cancer Screening event Nov. 4 at the Grossmont Shopping Center in La Mesa, Calif.

The event, which hopes to draw 500 people, is part of the ACP's 39th annual session Nov. 4-7 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

The cancer screenings will be performed by ACP members Dr. Mark George (Orange, Calif.), Dr. Robert Gillis (Sacramento, Calif.), Dr. Harold Gulbransen (La Mesa) and Dr. Russell Nishimura (Westlake Village, Calif.) ACP President Charles J. Goodacre, dean at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, has provided their university's mobile clinic van for the event, which is open to the public.

The ACP also recently completed an instructional DVD on how to properly perform an oral cancer examination, which will be released in conjunction with the event

The ACP meeting is open to prosthodontists, general dentists, dental technicians and dental industry professionals who are interested in learning the latest in prosthodontic trends, leading edge technology and other news impacting the specialty.
