Submissions sought for Gies editorial award
Milwaukee—June 22 is the deadline for submissions for the 2012 William J. Gies Editorial Award.
The American Association of Dental Editors and the William J. Gies Foundation for the Advancement of Dentistry of the American Dental Education Association will present the Gies Editorial Award at the AADE annual conference on Oct. 17 in San Francisco, immediately prior to the ADA Annual Session.
Awarded annually since 1958, the award is presented to the author for the editorial that AADE and the ADEA Gies Foundation have judged to be the most valuable editorial published in a dental journal or periodical.
The award consists of plaque and $1,500 honorarium. Certificates and honoraria are also presented to the first and second honorable mentions.
Editors of professional dental publications and any others not associated with proprietary periodicals are invited to submit a copy of no more than two of their editorials published during the previous calendar year.
Editors (including executive, associate, managing and contributing editors of dental societies or American Student Dental Association publications) are eligible. For more information about entry requirements, please contact the AADE at 1-414-272-2759 or log on to the website, www.dentaleditors.org.
