PAHO, PAHEF seek Soper Award nominations

Award recognizes scientific articles that have had significant impact on public health literature in the Americas

Washington—The Pan American Health Organization and the Pan American Health and Education Foundation seek nominations for the Fred L. Soper Award for Excellence in Public Health Literature.

The award recognizes scientific articles that have had a significant impact on the public health literature in the Americas. The articles must have been published within the three years previous to the nomination in a scientific journal that is indexed in a medical database (e.g., PubMed, SciELO) or in the Pan American Journal of Public Health.

Nominations may be submitted at www.pahef.org/soper. Full guidelines are also available at this URL. Nearly anyone may submit a nomination (exceptions are noted in the guidelines), including editors of journals or authors of articles. The deadline for submissions is July 20, 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Fred L. Soper Award for Excellence in Public Health Literature is part of the Awards for Excellence in Inter-American Public Health Program, a joint initiative of PAHO and PAHEF. Each award includes a cash prize or research grant, certificate of honor and a symbolic representation of the award. More information and the full guidelines for each award may be found at www.pahef.org.
