Keynote speaker to address HIV/AIDS at OSAP symposium

San Diego—HIV/AIDS expert Harold Jaffe, M.D., will headline the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention 2013 Symposium June 13-15 here.

Dr. Jaffe, associate director for science at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will serve as the speaker for the Dr. John S. Zapp Memorial Lecture and will deliver the keynote address "The Early AIDS Epidemic in the United States: Views from Hollywood and Atlanta."

The OSAP Symposium is designed to address current and emerging issues related to infection control and safety, and to develop and support new leaders in this important health care strategy.

This year's symposium theme is Charting a Course for Infection Prevention and Safety.

Dr. Sheila Strock, senior manager, ADA Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations, will present two sessions, including Quality Improvement—Fostering a Culture of Safety and Prevention of Health Care-Acquired Infections in Dental Settings.
