CareCredit launches new patient tool

Online resource center aids health and financial decisions

CareCredit, an ADA Business Resources-endorsed provider of dental financing for patients, has launched a new online resource center with a two-fold purpose: to make it easier for patients to manage their health care line of credit and help them make personalized health and financial decisions.

"The relationship between the patient and the dentist is based on trust," said David Fasoli, president of CareCredit. "When a dentist offers patients CareCredit as a way to pay for their dentistry, part of that trust relationship is transferred to us. CareCredit continues its commitment to providing the doctor and the patient with a positive experience, so that the trust relationship is honored and strengthened."

On the Web site,, patients can quickly and efficiently access a wide variety of information in written and video format, from a CareCredit doctor locator and user's guide to tips on preventing credit fraud. The site allows patients to conveniently make payments online, "go green" by signing up for paperless statements and gain access to current health information based on their individual life stage. Health information is sourced from third-party organizations (including that provide patient guidelines for appropriate care based on age.

Patients can also sign up for CareCredit's e-newsletter, Care Checkup, which covers a wide range of health care topics in addition to dentistry, such as vision care and aging, dental health for pets and the latest in cosmetic surgery advancements. Links to additional resources and more in-depth information on the topics are provided.

To access the resource center, log on to and click on the "CareCredit Cardholders" link at the top of the page.

CareCredit also offers a dedicated health care customer service team for those who prefer one-on-one assistance via phone. With over 20 years' experience in health care, CareCredit understands and respects the patient/dentist relationship and is committed to making sure patients get the same exceptional care and consideration they receive at the dental office, said Cindy Hearn, senior vice president of marketing for CareCredit.

Available to both patients and practices, this customer service team is knowledgeable, experienced and trained to provide quick, efficient and friendly assistance. In fact, this unique team continuously earns "best in class" service ratings and has the title of "Service Center of Excellence," she said.

"Financing now takes a more prominent role in patients' lives," said Ms. Hearn. "Today, over 7 million patients have used CareCredit to get care, and a new patient applies every nine seconds. It is our responsibility as an ADA Business Resources-endorsed partner to provide solutions both doctors and their patients trust, and the resources to help patients make informed decisions about financing their dentistry."
