Service interruption for Dental Testing Services

As part of the ADA Department of Testing Services' transition to a new software system, testing services will be interrupted from March 14-April 3.

The upgrade affects all major testing programs and DTS ancillary services. From March 14-April 3, the following services will not be available:

• updates/retrievals/requests involving personal information/DENTPIN;

• application processing;

• score report requests;

• score processing.

DTS has standard timeframes for the above-named services (updates/retrievals/requests involving personal information/DENTPIN are usually five to seven business days; application processing is usually daily; score report requests are usually three to four weeks; and score processing is usually three to four weeks).

"If you submit a request close the outage period, please expect delays," DTS wrote in a letter to its communities of interest Feb. 27. "For example, if a score report request is received one week before the outage, the total processing time for this request could range between six and seven weeks (i.e., three to four weeks of standard processing plus the three-week outage). There is also likely to be a high volume of activity in the time periods surrounding the outage, due to the backlog and inquiries we anticipate receiving."

To avoid delays, DTS is asking users so submit service requests immediately.
